BiographyIra Losco

Ira Losco is one of the biggest names in Maltese music,
and her career spanning over 15 years has seen her win more than 20 music awards.

Ira has twice opened concerts for Sir Elton John and has performed alongside Katie Melua,
Maroon 5, Akon, Enrique Iglesias, Ronan Keating, Tokio Hotel, Gigi D`Alessio and many more.
She has also had a string of chart topping singles, including “What I’d Give,” “The Person I Am,”
and “Me Luv U Long Time.” Her fifth album will be released this year.

Of course Ira is also no stranger to Eurovision, having come within 12 points of winning
the Eurovision Contest in Tallinn. She returns to the Eurovision stage 14 years later
in Stockholm with a powerful song, “Walk on Water”.

Beyond music, Ira is an advocate for LGBTI rights, supports anti-bullying initiatives and campaigns
to help teenagers protect themselves from revenge porn. In 2008 she was awarded a prestigious
medal by the President of Malta in recognition of her outstanding achievements.

From what Ive seen & heard, Earth Garden festival is going to be amazing in its 11th edition. To all those fancying a weekend break, If youre after a fun & friendly atmosphere & great music I strongly recommend checking it out. Link below with the packed program starting from 1st - 4th June. Worth noting it’s been voted one of the top 15 festivals in Europe. Definitely will not miss it this year. Im sure im not the only one feeling exhausted with politics. I chose unity over division!

#Throwbackthursday EXACTLY 15 years ago today Malta placed second for the first time, at only 12 points away from the title at the ESC 😊😍😊 Ive said this many a time ranking is not important, what has transpired to be far more important to me is that this marked the beginning of a 15 year career, which still has me making music and sharing it with you all. Looking forward to more upcoming releases!

Howard Keith DebonoI never had any doubt you would take it one step further . Infact that the result wouldn't have mattered if you didn't take it to another level coz truthfully you haven't stopped ever since. You've been inspirational to others, releasing several albums ,giving the female role in local music a more Active & credible identity & never afraid to push those buttons or boundaries. You've also thought me alot and gave me a different perspective to the female role in music. Today, one might take it for granted but female artists weren't as many as there are today, not respected as much as they should have been, financially or artistically, unless one possibly played the partisan game which you never did. Instead you replaced words with actions and let the results speak for themselves , being a very active artist with numerous publications, performing in 25+ countries infront of huge audiences & high profile events, setting trends, undeniable charts & stats, record label support & of course Music . These are only a part of what' you're all about and what you stand for as i've witnessed throughout the years. You have truly lead by example when it came to being humble, yet having a cheeky & confident attitude on stage, respecting other artists, being tolerant as well as advocating tolerance & unity, not engaging in social media bickering or false assumptions, keeping your status with dignity, kept it real without any pretension whatsoever. Also never jumped on the gravy train, pre or post elections. It was, is and will always be an honour to work with you. Bring on another 15!

Ira Losco was feeling concerned.

Must we wake up every day to some sort of news of death/terrorism? Every day there's news of tragedy, political unrest, people fleeing their countries. It has gone on for years and years. What I find rather unfortunate is that it is the innocent who are most often attacked. It is "the people" who are the victims in almost every single situation. Without sounding callous, it is hardly ever the "real problem" ( person/people in high places/ governments) who are targeted. What does this say about life in general? The higher you ride on your horse, the less you care about who you are meant to protect? The more immortal others make you? My heart goes out to victims everywhere and anywhere of any injustice they are suffering. These aren't good times to be living in!

Mark NorrisI'm afraid your insight is about as useful as a barbershop at the footsteps of the guillotine. You seem to have some understanding of how the world really works when you spoke of people in high places. But if people like you really care about innocent victims, maybe you should spend less time selling yourself on magazine covers, marketing clothing for the rich, and more time as a real activist. #norrised

Frederick BrincatIts not a problem Ira, the crowds are too busy and taken with stupid things to feel the impact of more important chaos surrounding them, give them a logo to wear, a slogan to repeat, and an image to imitate, and everything will be fine as long as they ignore reality.

Joseph A. BartoloThat's because it is the people in high places who are behind these atrocities in most cases, those whom we think are protecting us, but in reality, are protecting their positions of power, by keeping us in a state of fear, ignorance and servitude. They are known as the Cabal or Illuminati to the so-called conspiracists.
